Seattle Government Almost Surrendered The Police Station To The Rioters

The left’s favorite term these days is “insurrection,” by which they mean January 6th, 2021, but they conveniently forget the litany of insurrections that the left has instigated over recent years, including the thousands of union thugs who occupied the state capital building in Madison Wisconsin when Scott Walker was governor.

Now we learn from new documents about how perilously close the Seattle government was to surrendering the police building to the Black Lives Matter rioters. This story from the Washington Examiner, gives the frightening details:

During the summer protests of 2020, then-Mayor Jenny Durkan’s administration reportedly considered transferring a Seattle Police Department building to Black Lives Matter Seattle-King County.

Draft legislation to relocate operations from the SPD’s East Precinct building and transfer the building was emailed to the mayor by the head of Seattle Department of Finance and Administrative Services on the same day the building had been taken over by protesters who established the Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone, according to documents obtained by the Seattle Times.
