In what we hope will be a trend, South Africa has ended isolation and quarantine as the Omicron wave subsides with steeply lower severity than previous waves.

The new policies include:

• • • All contact tracing be stopped with immediate effect except in congregate settings and cluster outbreak situations.
    • All contacts must only be tested if they develop symptoms.
    • All quarantine is to be stopped with immediate effect.
    • Asymptomatic Individuals: No isolation period required.
