The Pope Blames America First For Climate Change

Last week we lambasted Pope Francis’ absurd climate change encyclical rant. We’ve received many comments on that from readers – positive and negative.
Here’s another example of a total fallacy in the Pope’s Blame America First denunciation of Western nation’s “irresponsible lifestyles.”

Francis declares that “emissions per individual in the United States are about two times greater than those of individuals living in China, and about seven times greater than the average of the poorest countries.” Why is the Pope appeasing a country with some of the worst human rights and environmental violations on the planet. President Xi is loving life right now.

China’s emissions are in fact TWO to THREE times higher than those of the United States even though our economy is roughly two to three times as large as theirs.

Yes, America uses more energy than any other nation, but that is because we PRODUCE far more output than any other nation in the world. It’s one of the reasons the United States is the breadbasket of the world.

The solution to improving living conditions all over the planet ISN’T for the U.S. to consume less energy. It is for poor nations to have access to much more reliable and affordable energy – something the environmentalists – and now apparently the Catholic Church officially oppose.

So much for the infallibility of THIS Pope.
