We’re big supporters of AI, but sometimes the companies don’t do themselves any favors.
Anthropic recently raised eyebrows when they tried to convince the Pope that their AI chatbot, Claude, might have consciousness and lobbied him not to declare that AI bots have no souls.
Really? Are robots and computer programs going to heaven??
Now Anthropic is changing the terms of service to protect Claude from getting its feeling hurt:
Guys, it’s software. Computer code.
Anthropic has a big IPO in the near future and about the worst way to convince people the software you’re writing is beneficial is to attach cult-like beliefs and personalities to it.
