The left is VERY good at planting fiscal time bombs in the budget whose costs explode in the “out years.” Exhibit A is the inaptly titled Inflation Reduction Act. Casey Mulligan, at the time a senior fellow with Unleash Prosperity, repeatedly warned that the IRA would drive premiums and subsidies in the Medicare Part D prescription drug program higher, despite the Biden administration insisting it would generate hundreds of billions in savings.  Guess who was right?  This chart from the Paragon Health Institute shows how the Part D spending projections from CBO have moved since the bill passed.
