Some of our conservative friends believe that Bill Gates has shifted his position on climate change because Microsoft is going big on data centers.

AI will triple our electric power needs over the next fifteen years. And you can’t get that from windmills.

But we will give Gates the benefit of the doubt and accept that he is a true humanitarian who wants to use his $75 billion foundation to help his fellow man by ending poverty.

If that’s his goal, then he probably has come to the realization that one of the best ways to achieve that goal is by making energy cheaper – not more expensive. Rich countries use far more energy than poor countries.
