We’ve made the case that reading and math test scores are WAY too low in nearly every state. But here’s more evidence that throwing more money at the public schools without offering parents choices and without any performance metrics is throwing good money after bad.
Blue states and Red states have essentially the same reading and math scores. But the Blue states are spending $7,000 more per student for the same results. (Incidentally, the real spending is much higher than officially reported here.)
