And now for some good news. Fiscal policy director Jonathan Williams over at ALEC reports that in just the last eight weeks four states have cut tax rates and now have simple and single-rate flat taxes.

They are:

      • Georgia
      • Iowa
      • Mississippi

We also note that North Carolina, which adopted a flat tax several years ago, in December cut its rate from 5.25% to 3.99% – and that was signed into law by Democratic Governor Roy Cooper. Maybe there is still hope for the Democrats after all.
