U.S. Again Leads World in Greenhouse Gas Reductions

1) U.S. Again Leads World in Greenhouse Gas Reductions

The media and the green groups would never admit or report this, but no president in modern times did more to clean our air and water than Donald J. Trump.

Here is the latest analysis from the International Energy Administration on CO2 emissions for 2020:

“The U.S. saw the largest drop in carbon emissions at 12%, followed by the European Union, at 11%.  India saw carbon emissions decline 9%, but China had a drop of just 1.7%. Over the last four years, the United States had the biggest decline in carbon emissions of any of the major signatories to the Paris Climate Accord.”

The U.S. also had the largest decline in energy-related CO2 emissions in 2019. In other words, the one country NOT in the Paris Climate Accord, had the biggest reduction in pollution.

Since  2000, U.S. emissions are now down about 20%, which according to the IEA was “the largest absolute decline by any country over that period.”

2) That’s the Good News…Here’s the Bad News

Environmentalists fret that with the vaccine getting the economy back to normal, emissions will start rising again. The greens are starting to advocate lockdowns as an effective way to save the planet. They are advocating permanent travel restrictions, energy rationing, periodic economic and business lockdowns to reduce emissions, and bans on combustible engine cars.

Below is a photo of an empty Champs Elysees avenue in Paris on March 28, 2020, during the pandemic. This may be the idyllic future the greens long for.
